Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

It's become associated with Halloween as the ultimate example of spooky music mostly because it was used in many old movies that featured mad organists playing their subterranean instruments beneath old opera buildings in the middle of the night.

Congratulations to those who guessed correctly!

  2. The suspense is killing us!! I was so happy I survived Mango not having me for dinner only to have my head chopped off here! We really enjoyed it - so much fun!

  5. Okay, so we didn't use the fancy name for it - what was it - foccacia and cheese? It's still Phantom's intro ;) BOL! Anyway, we were just getting started and some Mensa member has already 'fugued' it out?!
This art is over our heads - we thought Vermeer and Van Gogh, but don't know for sure and definitely don't know the names of them. Don't you have something more along the lines of Dogs Playing Poker? BOL!

    Good times!

  6. Someone sure is a lot smarter then we are. Would you believe Mommy finally figured out itsy bitsy spider last night, in a dream. We really don't wanna know what she dreams about. Daddy did get the music, if he hadn't been home we wouldn't have had a clue. So the Mango didn't get to have us for dinner BUT we don't know any of the paintings but think Fenris looks very distinguished (Henry the 8th maybe), Artemisia looks lovely. Are we in the Tower of London?

  7. If Fenris is Henry the 8th then we think the painting on the right is Queen Mary (aka Bloody Mary) and on the left is Queen Elizabeth the 1st.
